Meet Cady
With over a decade of experience as a floral designer, Cady brings a deep passion for creating artful arrangements for the every day.
Her journey with flowers began unexpectedly at 21, when she took a third job to support herself through college. A Craigslist ad for a warehouse assistant caught her eye, and she never imagined that sweeping up stems would change her life forever. In the floral world, people often say “flowers find you,” and that sentiment rings true for Cady. What started as a necessity quickly grew into a calling, with flowers becoming the cornerstone of her life and career.
While much of her experience is rooted in Asheville and New Orleans. Growing up in the South has given her a unique perspective—an eye for uncovering lushness and opulence in places others might overlook. It’s that “lotus from the swamp” energy: finding beauty in unexpected corners and transforming it into an unforgettable moment.
Over the years, Cady has not only honed her craft but also in inspiring individuals and groups to explore their creativity through flowers. She has taught classes on basic floral design, grocery-store flower techniques, and even floral street art.
Known for her kindness, energy, and positivity, Cady creates welcoming environments where ideas can flourish and collaboration thrives—ensuring every experience is both educational and uplifting.
Today, she works as a freelance artist, bringing her finely tuned floral expertise and leadership skills to anyone seeking creative partnership.
Meet Katie
Katie has spent the last twelve years immersed in the floral world, beginning her journey in Charleston, South Carolina, where she fell in love with wedding florals and the art of bringing a couple’s vision to life. That path eventually led her across the ocean to Maui, where she designed and managed one of the island’s top wedding floral boutiques, working daily with vibrant tropical blooms and the natural beauty of Hawai‘i’s landscapes.
She later opened her own studio—Stems and Blooms Maui—which allowed her to deepen her craft and build meaningful connections within the local community. More recently, Katie has stepped into the world of flower farming, learning the process from the ground up and gaining an even greater appreciation for what it takes to bring each bloom into being.
Gather and Learn is the culmination of everything she loves: creativity, connection, teaching, and the joy of working with nature. Outside of florals, Katie is a new mother, a true Sagittarius, a tea- and herb-obsessed soul, and someone who will happily take any excuse to dance.
Her hope is that every class feels like an invitation—to slow down, create with intention, and share a moment of beauty with others.
